Chin Family Reunion: Lake Apopka - Day 1 and 2 (click once on any

Rental House
The Chin family reunion hosted
by Li's brother Wei-Shen in Orlando, Florida during the first week of August
was filled with spectacular wildlife photography sessions, lots of great food,
wonderful evening entertainment, and of course fabulous time spent catching up
with everyone.
All of the out of town family members stayed
at this beautiful house on Lake Apopka that Wei-Shen rented. The deck in the backyard
provided a gorgeous view of the lake, and the pier was great for seeing close
ups of the wildlife.
As a welcome gift, Wei-Shen’s
eldest daughter Lauren crocheted one of these lovely hearts for each of us! She
also took us to see her new teacup Pomeranian puppy Mochi – that’s Li’s cousin
Connie from London Ontario holding her in the picture below.
Wei-Shen took these wildlife
photos right from the pier with his professional grade DSLR camera and
telephoto lens. Below is an adult alligator, tricolored heron in flight, and an
osprey perched in a tree by the house clutching the remains of a fish that he
caught.
But Li still got great shots of
this baby gator and great white egret using just his iPhone!
Great Eats
Mamak, a Malaysian restaurant,
was probably everyone’s favorite – we ate there two days in a row for lunch and
could have easily gone back again but there were other restaurants that we
wanted to try as well. And believe it or not, the best place for steak in
Orlando Florida is the Texas Roadhouse!
