Judy and Jean soak up the sun that finally came out in the afternoon on the second day.

Snow capped peaks and meandering streams were a common sight throughout Washington and Montana during the first week.

Bike paths like this one on the way to Kellogg, Idaho were a nice break from the bad combination of narrow shoulders and heavy, fast moving traffic that we encountered along some of the major roads.

Cycle America staff member John Newman took great pride in being one of the rare recumbant bike riders.

Getting older doesn't have to be a bad thing - the average age of the riders on this trip was 50, and many of them (like Jody) were retired.

Trains were another common western scene (see the tracks on the right side of the stream).
