We walked to Bar
Island. Yes you read that right - an island. Although we don’t have the ability
to walk on water, it was possible to walk to the island on a sand bar during
low tide, and as seen in the photo below, the sand bar is even wide enough for
cars.

photos below were taken from Bar Island looking back towards Bar Harbor.

Surprisingly
the restaurants in Hyannis outside Cape Cod were much better than the ones in
Bar Harbor with the one exception being Blaze - where we ended up eating two nights
in a row, and in hindsight, had we discovered this place sooner, we would have
eaten all of our meals there. The bacon wrapped scallops with a blueberry and maple
glaze (pictured below) were top notch!
