Woods Hole
Woods Hole is most famous for Dr.
Robert Ballard who used the Knorr (a ship owned by Woods Hole Oceanographic
Institute) to find the sunken Titanic. The institute’s Atlantis II ship, shown
in the harbor below, was used to map the discovered Titanic debris field. The small
but very good Woods Hole Science Aquarium housed unique displays such as the
seahorses in the photo below.
